heirlooms - Romeo & Juliet

Romeo & Juliet
Act One, Scene One
PRINCE
"Rebellious subjects, enemies to peace,
Profaners of this neighbour-stained steel,--
Will they not hear? What, ho! you men, you beasts,
That quench the fire of your pernicious rage
With purple fountains issuing from your veins,
On pain of torture, from those bloody hands
Throw your mistemper'd weapons to the ground,
And hear the sentence of your moved prince.
Three civil brawls, bred of an airy word,
By thee, old Capulet, and Montague,
Have thrice disturb'd the quiet of our streets,
And made Verona's ancient citizens
Cast by their grave beseeming ornaments,
To wield old partisans, in hands as old,
Canker'd with peace, to part your canker'd hate:
If ever you disturb our streets again,
Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace.
For this time, all the rest depart away:
You Capulet; shall go along with me:
And, Montague, come you this afternoon,
To know our further pleasure in this case,
To old Free-town, our common judgment-place.
Once more, on pain of death, all men depart."

was thinking of that scene when i made this collection of pendants for butterfleric. its the first time i've made a collection, and i think i might do more. having a theme or a certain scene in mind helps to push myself to explore new ways. was actually considering making it in line of a ancient siberian-persian-roman kinda theme, but i think using Shakespeare was better.

anyhoo! quite excited to learn how to use photoshop! the mass com diploma is really helping me to spruce butterfleric up! (: excited. anyhow, if this collection goes well, i think i might try another..maybe using Twelfth Night this time. i think out of all the different plays that Shakespeare wrote, i like Twelfth Night the best.

earth day @ MAAD

went to MAAD (Market of Artists and Designers) today. i wore green to support earth day. haha. bought my mom an early birthday present (by early i mean her birthday is in OCTOBER!) - this really nice laptop case from fabrix. decided to get one for myself too. its super pretty. haha. saw lots of great craft there, there are some really talented people out there in singapore. made me feel quite small - was considering setting up a store there but not too sure if i have what it takes. there is also the fact that i have a gazillion jillion things going on right now - driving, murdoch, tuition, bible geog, butterfleric, awana and to ice the cake, i might be getting a job at ben & jerry's too. got an audition on tuesday.

andrew and i outside little red dot museum

after MAAD, andrew and i plodded down to maxwell for some excellent excellent hum ji peng! take a look and see. i mean just LOOK at the queue! 7 for $1 is something from history literally. my dad was the one who introduced maxwell to me, and apparently the hum ji peng has been there for ages and ages. just looking at the pictures makes me hungry again.

(: quite happy with them. its the first time i'm making them. got the idea from a jamie oliver episode. speaking of which, i love his show to bits! its so original, and fresh and the food always looks so scrumptious! would love to learn how to cook like that.
